Fortrose Care Home

After months of campaigning, we have successfully secured approval for a new 40 bed care home in Fortrose.

Highland Councilors backed the planning application overwhelmingly in favour at the Planning committee meeting in October.

Parklands intends to build a £4 million care home on Ness Road, close to the centre of Fortrose. It has been sensitively designed to reflect its rural setting in the heart of a conservation area. It will consist of three wings built in the style of a farm steading – the main anchor building, which will serve as the central hub of the facility, and two smaller residential wings. The 40 en-suite bedrooms will be substantially larger than the national standard set by the Care Inspectorate.

Parklands Group have established that a new modern efficient care home facility is required to service the Black Isle due to the recent closure of Marine House in Rosemarkie and the continuing uncertainty of the nearby Abbeyfield House which has been up sale since 2015. It is also acknowledged by both Highland Council and NHS Highland that a new facility is required to service the Black Isle.

CRGP Architects & Surveyors look forward to developing the detail design and construction packages with Parklands Group with a site start in 2018 ahead.
