Project Description

Water damage reinstatement works complete at Clyde Cruising Club, Dinghy Section’s Bardowie clubhouse.

Extremely cold weather in December 2010 resulted in a burst pipe at the Clyde Cruising Club’s Bardowie clubhouse. CRGP Limited was appointed Project Manager, Building Surveyor, Quantity Surveyor and CDM Co-ordinator for the reinstatement works, which involved having Stirling-based contractor, Total Reinstatement Services attend immediately to carry out strip-out works, which continued during the Christmas holiday period. TRS were quickly followed by McMillan’s Chemdry who installed and monitored drying equipment, while tenders for the reinstatement works were prepared and issued.

Brick and Steel Construction Company Limited were successful in the tender process and commenced reinstatement works in March 2011, completing within the tight, 6-week contract period, and in time for the Club’s first event of the sailing season.

Clyde Cruising Club’s Dinghy Section has been based at Bardowie Loch for over 76 years, and has a well deserved reputation as a family friendly club. The Club provides RYA evening classes to children and adults covering beginners through to budding racers. The Club offers its facilities to a diverse range of organisations to give adults and children a sailing experience.
