Formed in 1964, we have a management structure of 3 Directors and 3 Associates, with over 40 professional staff across the range of disciplines.

We believe in a proactive approach to each project, with us bringing a determination and energy to make things happen.

We are equipped to deal with the range of technological challenges in today’s market, with our leading edge IT systems, and an innovative and pragmatic approach to respond to current and future developments.

Directors

Derek Brown 1

Derek Brown BSc, MSc, MAPM

Director

Derek began his career with us in 1987, initially as an Architectural Assistant before progressing to the position of partner in 1999. He became a director following incorporation in 2003. He has worked in a whole range of projects in sectors such as social housing, commercial, defence and healthcare in his disciplines of architecture and project management.

Richard Walker

Richard Walker BSc (Hons) BArch, Arb, RIBA, RIAS

Director

Richard has worked as an Architect in the private sector since graduating in 1995. He joined the company in 2003 and progressed to the position of associate in 2005, and Director in 2008. His principle expertise in architecture being expanded through the successful completion of many education and defence projects.

Bryan McFadzean 1

Bryan McFadzean BArch

Director

Bryan has been with the company since 1998 when he joined our Architecture department as a trainee. He became an Associate in 2007, and Director in 2011, in recognition of his contribution to the Architectural development of the company and the wider growth of the practice, in particular our Inverness office. His continuing role also assists in the expansion of the marketing and IT infrastructure of the business.

Associates

David McIntosh

David McIntosh BSc, BArch, PGDip Arch, Arb, RIBA, RIAS

Associate

David has worked in private practice Architecture since qualifying as an Architectural technologist in 1998. He joined CRGP in 2003 where he continued his professional development part-time through RIBA Part 1 and Part 2. David became an associate in 2008 and has developed his understanding of design and construction in the fields of residential, commercial and healthcare Architecture.

Gemma Sommerville

Gemma Sommerville BSc (Hons) PGDip, Arb, RIBA, RIAS

Associate

Gemma joined CRGP Ltd in 2002 for a years work experience and returned once completing her architectural education; she qualified as an Architect in 2005 and progressed to the position of associate in 2013. Gemma has a diverse range of experience extending from master planning to interior design, following various procurement routes through traditional to national frameworks. Her diverse skills extend to a variety of clients including private sector, public sector and MoD.

Gareth Merser

Gareth Merser BSc

Associate

Gareth joined CRGP in 2003 and progressed to the position of Associate in 2016. During this time Gareth has obtained a comprehensive, technical skill base and knowledge which has seen him successfully deliver small to multi million pound projects across the UK. Gareth excels through his organisational skills, analytical approach to detail and technical expertise. Gareth is also responsible for the office IT systems and has been instrumental in CRGP’s move to an integrated BIM environment.

Colin Dair

Colin Dair FRICS

Consultant

Colin began his career in 1974 with a private practice Quantity Surveyor before joining BAA at Prestwick in 1981 and then working overseas for a period. He joined CRGP in 1984 and progressed to the position of partner in 1989, becoming a director following incorporation in 2003. Although having established qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Colin has developed significant expert knowledge in insurance reinstatement.
