Project Description

CRGP have carried out an extensive refurbishment of Millbank Primary School in Buckie. The scope of work involved the upgrade of the existing building fabric to meet current standards along with an extensive renovation internally and a four classroom extension.

The project brief asked for the main school thoroughfare to be removed from the central hall, the open plan classrooms to be more segregated and for the entrance to be given prominence. Each of these objectives were achieved through intricate planning and detailing.

A new access corridor was introduced to the rear of the hall which also provides access to the new four classroom modular extension and the introduction of a new entrance lobby and canopy provides the main entrance with prominence.

Further works also included converting an existing stand alone building into a SEN facility and relocating the nursery to within the main school building.

The works were carried out over a number of phases allowing the school to remain fully operational throughout the 18 month programme. All these elements combined have provided the local community with a modern and more functional school.
