Kilsyth Town Centre Regeneration

Nk-10 is a Town Centre development in Kilsyth, in the heart of historical North Lanarkshire. The development will provide the all important mix of live/work/leisure synergy which is vital in creating an efficient, healthy and sustainable civic centre.

The core ethos of the project is to bring all of Kilsyths amenities into the centre of the town, benefitting the existing residents and bringing a further increase to the towns population. The initial development encompasses the regeneration of 2 key properties in Kilsyth at 36-48 and 56-62 Main Street.

CRGP Limited is involved with both projects, the former Co-Op building at 56-62 and The Whitehouse at 36-48.

For the former Co-Op CRGP Limited is providing architectural, project management, quantity surveying and CDM Co-ordinator roles.

CRGP architect’s conversion design provides 21,000sqft of mixed use development incorporating 11 apartments, for rent/sale, café/bar/restaurant, function space, 2 commercial units and studio space. The commercial units will be completed out to a white out shell specification with services enabled ready for tenant fit out. This opportunity exists within a high street location with reasonable rent and rates; Kilsyth has a strong sense of community and local catchment that assists in creating the critical mass to enable a sustainable development and healthy town centre.

CRGP Limited is providing project management and quantity surveying roles for The Whitehouse property, which will provide a very traditional configuration of Town Centre mix with upper floor residential apartments and ground floor retail commercial space. The ‘B’ Listed Whitehouse property is steeped in local folklore and while its previous proprietors may no longer create the retail experience they once did we are sure that the character of its next proprietors will be just as colourful. The curved shop frontage of the Whitehouse is unusual and offers an opportunity for the user to acquire unique display space within a local landmark building. Strathclyde Police will relocate their existing Police Station into the ground floor unit of 44-48 Main Street, which will bring a positive presence within the civic centre and true meaning to community police.

Kilsyth is the Beautiful Scotland ‘Best New Entrant’ Award winner 2009.

Works are being carried out by Stone 3 Southern Limited.
