Rouken Glen Park Pavilion

Works are due to commence on the refurbishment of the 100 year old pavilion that sits within the popular Rouken Glen Park on Glasgow’s south side.

The proposals aim to retain the historic character of the pavilion whilst bringing the property up to modern standards and include new windows and timber shutters, accessible ramps, new reception area and open plan meeting/exhibition space, overhauled WC facilities including unisex baby change and accessible WCs.

The project is the first major step of a 3-year plan of improvements to the park by East Renfrewshire Council, with part funding assistance from Heritage Lottery Fund. ERC has already commenced the installation of lighting thoughout the park, and following works to the Pavilion there are plans to upgrade footpaths, refurbish the pond and improve signage as well as welcome various activities and attractions such as the current and very popular Electric Glen.

Works to the Pavilion are planned to be completed for the start of the school summer holidays.
