Project Description
CRGP have completed the first Y-type building for Project SLAM which will house personnel under going phase two specialist training. The building with comprise of four bed dormitories providing the occupants with a place to study along with shared ablutions, snack prep areas and common rooms. The works carried out at Normandy Barracks saw the demolition of the poor quality existing accommodation being replaced on the same site with a grade one high quality steel framed building. The new building provides a focal point within the barracks as much of the surrounding accommodation are low grade temporary buildings. CRGP are the Y-type accommodation design model ‘owners’ and have worked closely with client and end users to develop the most practical solution for the building inline with the scale requirements. CRGP will continue to develop the design taking into account lessons learnt and continuous improvement. The building type will be utilised at numerous sites across the country through Project SLAM.
