Project Description
The project, delivered through Project SLAM, has provided new SNCO and Junior Ranks single living accommodation within a very constrained site in the centre of the RAF station. The site is land locked on all sides by existing main access routes and operational buildings, making the build process complex and constrained. The building’s were constructed from volumetric modules to reduced programme and the need for storage on site, the were also been designed with monopitched roofs to reduce the ridge height and avoid issues with the LPA and Air Traffic Control. Three accommodation blocks at four storeys are required to provide the 230 bedspaces, this new accommodation provides the bases with much needed accommodation and reduces the need for personnel to stay off site.
